Cindy Smith
As a student in France, Cindy Smith developed a passion for antiques. This studied eye led her to launch Circa Interiors & Antiques, opening in 1979. Her shop became an interior design and decor destination. Cindy’s reputation as taste maker grew and her shop expanded and flourished with the help of her family and many coworkers. Her daughter, Whitney, now owns the Circa Birmingham shop.
In 2022 Cindy shifted back to her antique importing roots with CIIRCA Antiques, a carefully curated selection of European antiques. Her talent for sourcing beautiful and special pieces will be on display within the Circa family of shops and this website. Constant updates on new arrivals will be posted on our instagram
Virginia Christianson
Virginia’s love of antiques and interiors began early, shaped by a lifelong appreciation for beautiful craftsmanship and timeless design. After beginning her career in fine linens, where she served as National Coordinator for Yves Delorme and helped open stores across the country, her passion for fabrics and fine details naturally led her into the world of interiors and antiques and into the Circa showroom.
For the past six years, Virginia has worked closely alongside Cindy Smith, managing the antiques showroom and traveling throughout Europe to source distinctive, one-of-a-kind pieces for CIIRCA. Her discerning eye and deep knowledge of antiques bring a refined perspective to every find. Virginia knows how to spot pieces you simply cannot find elsewhere and brings them back to Charlotte.
